Learn how to get the most out of SEO Auditor with this comprehensive guide.
Download SEO Auditor from the App Store. The app requires iOS 26.0 or later and works on both iPhone and iPad.
Open SEO Auditor. You'll see five main tabs: Audit, Compare, History, Schema, and Settings. No account or registration is required.
Visit Settings to optionally add an OpenAI API key for AI-powered insights, or enable iCloud sync to keep your history across devices.
In the Audit tab, enter the full URL of the website you want to analyse (e.g., https://example.com). The app will automatically add https:// if you forget.
Select your scan level:
Tap "Start Audit" and wait for the analysis to complete. You'll see real-time progress as pages are crawled and analysed.
Once complete, you'll see an overall score and detailed breakdown for each page. Tap any page to see specific issues and recommendations.
Excellent. Your page is well-optimised. Focus on maintaining quality and monitoring for any regressions.
Good, but room for improvement. Address the highlighted issues to boost your rankings.
Needs work. Several important SEO factors need attention. Prioritise the recommendations.
Critical issues. Major SEO problems are likely hurting your visibility. Address these urgently.
Your overall score is calculated from:
Tap the "Compare" tab at the bottom of the screen to access competitor analysis.
Enter your website URL in the "Your Website" field. This is the baseline for comparison.
Enter up to 3 competitor URLs. Choose direct competitors or sites you want to outrank for your target keywords.
Enter your company name, brand names, or product names separated by commas. This enables brand monitoring.
Tap "Compare Websites" to start. The analysis includes SEO comparison, keyword gap, backlinks, and SERP previews.
Protect your brand from competitors who may be targeting your name in their SEO.
In the Compare tab, enter your brand terms: company name, product names, trademarks, or any terms you want to monitor.
After analysis, brand alerts appear at the top of results. They're colour-coded by severity:
Run regular analyses to track brand alerts over time. The app shows when alerts are NEW or if previous issues have been RESOLVED.
If you need to take action, export the report with evidence of brand usage for legal documentation.
Run either a website audit or competitor analysis first. Export options appear after results are ready.
Look for the share icon or "Export" option in the toolbar or menu.
Select from:
Use the iOS share sheet to send via email, save to Files, AirDrop, or any other sharing method.
Tap the "History" tab to see all your past audits. Results are stored locally and optionally synced via iCloud.
Toggle the trend chart at the top to visualise how your SEO scores change over time. Use the domain filter chips to focus on specific sites. Colour zones indicate score health: green (80+), amber (40–79), red (below 40).
Each history entry shows the points change since the previous audit for that domain (e.g. +5 📈 or -3 📉). This helps you track whether your SEO improvements are working.
Tap any history entry to see the full audit results, including all pages analysed and recommendations.
Swipe left on any history entry to delete it, or use "Clear All" to remove all history.
Automate your SEO monitoring with background scans and push notifications.
Go to Settings → Scheduled Audits. Enter up to 5 domain names to monitor (e.g. example.com). The app cleans URLs automatically.
Choose how often to scan: Daily, Weekly, Fortnightly, or Monthly. The system schedules background tasks accordingly.
Toggle push notifications on and grant permission when prompted. Set the score change threshold — you'll only be notified when a score changes by more than this amount.
Recent score changes appear in the Settings section. Full results are saved to your audit history. Use the Score Trend chart in History to visualise changes.
Create JSON-LD structured data for rich search results without writing code.
Tap the "Schema" tab in the bottom navigation. You'll see a list of supported schema types.
Select from 8 types: Article, FAQ, How-To, Local Business, Product, Organisation, Breadcrumb, or Event. Each has different fields.
Required fields are marked with an asterisk. Optional fields improve the richness of your markup but aren't mandatory.
Tap "Generate" to create the JSON-LD. Copy it to your clipboard and paste it into your website's <head> section, inside a <script type="application/ld+json"> tag.
After adding the markup to your site, validate it using Google's Rich Results Test to confirm eligibility.
Deep structural analysis available in Deep scans to improve crawlability and indexing.
See how pages link to each other. Identify orphan pages (no incoming links) and hub pages that distribute link equity across your site.
Map all 301/302 redirect chains. Chains longer than 2 hops waste crawl budget and slow page loads. Loops are flagged as critical issues.
Detect which pages qualify for rich results: FAQ dropdowns, How-To steps, breadcrumbs, sitelinks, and featured snippet potential.
Find thin pages, missing SEO elements, and topics that need more content. Prioritised by potential impact on search visibility.
Identify paginated series using rel=next/prev, URL patterns, and navigation links. Verify proper SEO handling.
Analyse render-blocking resources and estimate unused JavaScript and CSS that slow your pages down.
Optionally add your OpenAI API key to enable AI-powered insights and recommendations. This is stored securely in your device's Keychain.
Enable iCloud sync to keep your audit history across all your Apple devices. Your data remains encrypted and private.
Upgrade to Pro with a one-time purchase to unlock Standard and Deep scans. No subscription required. Restore purchases if you've bought before.
Customise default scan settings: maximum pages, scan delay, and whether to use AI analysis when available.
Add up to 5 domains for automatic background monitoring. Set frequency (daily/weekly/fortnightly/monthly), enable push notifications, and configure the score change threshold.
Access the built-in help section from Settings for detailed explanations of every feature, prerequisites, and troubleshooting tips.
Enhance your SEO analysis with AI-generated insights using your own OpenAI API key.
Visit platform.openai.com/api-keys to create an API key. You'll need an OpenAI account with billing enabled.
Go to Settings → OpenAI API Key and paste your key. It's stored securely in your device's Keychain and never shared with us.
AI insights are automatically generated during Deep scans when a valid API key is configured. The AI analyses your audit results and provides additional recommendations.
After the scan completes, you'll see an "AI Insights" section with:
When using AI features, your page content is sent directly to OpenAI's API. We never see or store this data. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to this data.
Use Quick scans for initial assessments, then run Deep scans on sites that need detailed analysis. This saves time.
Run a Quick audit on new pages before publishing to catch SEO issues early. Prevention is easier than fixing.
Run competitor analysis monthly to track changes in their SEO strategy and spot new opportunities.
Prioritise fixing issues that affect your score the most: missing titles, no meta descriptions, and broken HTTPS.
Set up brand monitoring before you have problems. Early detection of brand misuse is easier to address.
